Sunday, November 24, 2024 In Casablanca, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) recently celebrated a significant milestone in its growth strategy with the arrival of a new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The aircraft landed at Mohammed V Airport, where it was greeted with a ceremonial water salute, symbolizing the airline’s ambitious expansion plans. This delivery represents the first step in the airline’s broader development initiative, as it works to enhance its position in the international aviation market.
Strengthening the Long-Haul Fleet With this latest addition, Royal Air Maroc’s long-haul fleet now totals ten aircraft, and an eleventh Dreamliner is anticipated to arrive before the year’s end. The airline announced that it would soon launch new direct routes to key international destinations, including São Paulo, Toronto, and Beijing. This strategic expansion aims to increase RAM’s global footprint and cater to the growing demand for international travel.
The new Dreamliner is part of a larger order that includes ten aircraft in total, with seven Boeing 737 MAX jets designated for medium-haul routes. The addition of these aircraft is expected to significantly boost RAM’s long-haul operations, enabling the airline to compete more effectively on the international stage. A Vision for the Future The ambitious plans of Royal Air Maroc align closely with Morocco’s strategic aviation vision, established in a partnership agreement signed with the government in July 2023.
