Vadodara: Elected representatives from the city were at the receiving end from citizens and were even told to leave certain areas when they visited them on Thursday. These included MLAs and elected councillors of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC). When assembly chief whip Balkrishna Shukla and Vadodara City MLA Manisha Vakil reached flood-affected areas, irate citizens made representations to them.

The citizens had some tough questions for the duo. Shukla was asked if he could ensure that those whose houses were flooded would be reimbursed for their losses. A man was seen folding his hands and gesturing to Shukla to leave while saying ‘Jai Shri Ram’.

Vakil also faced a group of furious citizens. One asked her to leave for now and to return later. She was hinting that the people were furious and it was not the right time for Vakil to speak to them.
