July 12, 2024 - by Rob Williams The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and OneOp will present a virtual economic readiness and military family well-being professional development series beginning in August. The professional development series will feature a self-paced course and three live webinars that will allow military family service providers to better support the families they serve. “The Foundations for Military Family Financial Readiness, a six-week on-demand course, and the webinars will equip service providers with the skills necessary to support well-being for military families while helping them navigate the terrain of economic security,” said Rachel Brauner, AgriLife Extension program specialist and OneOp lifespan caregiving co-principal investigator, Bryan-College Station .

The course will outline the social and economic drivers needed to reach and sustain improved quality of life among military families and cover unique challenges they may face, such as enlisting, deployment, permanent change of station and major life events. The series will also feature three live webinars, hosted on the OneOp virtual professional development platform. The webinars are from 10-11 a.m.

and will discuss economic readiness and how it affects family well-being, how the Department of Defense helps spouses find career paths that can benefit their family’s financial stability, and understanding and nurturing.
