LOUISVILLE, Ky. – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Michael T. Chiarella II, a vibrant 33-year-old, and beloved son of Michael T.

Chiarella of Waterbury, and Kim (Lockwood) Summa of Prospect. Born on March 19, 1991 in Waterbury, Michael II graduated from St. Mary’s Grammar School and Sacred Heart High School, class of 2009.

Michael II worked in the construction industry at various locations in New York City, including the construction of 22 luxury apartments above Rao’s Restaurant in East Harlem, the Jue Lan Club at the Limelight in Manhattan, which were a few of his favorite projects working with his father and sister, Marissa. Most recently, he worked as a commercial-residential security technician in Louisville, Ky. Michael had an outgoing and charismatic personality, and was loved by everyone who met him.

His smile had the ability to light up any room that he entered. Besides his parents, Michael leaves to honor and cherish his memory his sister, Marissa A. Chiarella of Waterbury; his father’s longtime companion, Kristina Peterson of Waterbury; and his stepfather, Joseph Summa of Prospect.

He also leaves behind his stepbrother, Gregory Peterson of Waterbury; his stepsister, Kara Summa of Wolcott; a stepbrother, Mark Summa of Burlington, his beloved and faithful dog, Rocky; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and his best friend Valeria Pabon. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Col. John and Ann (Donofrio) Chiarel.
