Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has launched a four-city roadshow in India to showcase the sultanate’s diverse tourism offerings. The roadshow, which began in New Delhi on Monday, aims to highlight Oman’s unique attractions, from its picturesque landscapes to its rich cultural heritage, which make it an unforgettable destination for Indian tourists. In addition to New Delhi, the roadshow will cover Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore between August 20 and 28, 2024.

These cities were chosen for their significant role in India’s outbound tourism market. The event has drawn participation of 18 Omani tourism companies and hotels, besides key partners from India’s tourism sector, including travel agencies and tour operators. H E Azzan bin Qasim al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Tourism in Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, stated, “The roadshow aims to introduce leading Indian tourism companies to the distinctive tourism offerings of Oman and to strengthen ties between tourism operators in both countries.

” He noted that India is one of the largest sources of tourists worldwide and a key market for Oman. The sultanate received over 600,000 visitors from India in 2023, with the number expected to increase in 2024. H E Busaidi added that Oman is a destination that appeals to tourists year-round, thanks to its natural beauty and cultural heritage.

“Our focus is on attracting more travellers to experience Oman’s luxurious and diverse hospitality.”.
