Mercedes-Benz India today launched the updated Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe and Mercedes CLE Cabriolet in the Indian market. Along with the launch, the company has revealed that it will be launching the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 luxury EV in the Indian market on September 5th 2024. The prices for the EV are expected to begin upwards of Rs 4 crores (ex-showroom).

When launched, the EQS 680 will be the most expensive EV from Mercedes on sale in the Indian market. The EQS 680 is the first-ever EV from Mercedes-Maybach and it first made its global debut back in April 2023. In terms of design, the Maybach EQS is based on a standard EQS SUV and retails the same design.

It gets Maybach treatment all around and looks more premium and more luxurious than the standard model. The luxury EV features a signature dual-tone paint job accentuated by a hand-applied pinstripe. There are five two-tone colour options available globally - high-tech silver/obsidian black, high-tech silver/nautical blue, obsidian black/selenite grey, obsidian black/Kalahari gold, and velvet brown/onyx black.

It’s still not confirmed which colour option Mercedes-Benz will offer in India. The black panel on the SUV showcases numerous chrome-plated vertical lines, reminiscent of the Maybach grille found on models like the S 680 sedan and GLS 600. The windows have chrome surrounds, a Maybach emblem is positioned on the D-pillar, and the three-pointed star badge is positioned on the bonnet as seen on the other Maybach mod.
