Nagpur: The inmates at the Regional Mental Hospital (RMH) in Nagpur are again showcasing their artistic talent by crafting exquisite rakhis for the upcoming Rakshabandhan festival. This inspiring venture, which commenced last year, has blossomed into a significant source of empowerment for these individuals. Under the expert guidance of Uddan project coordinator Pravin Kakde and occupational therapist Dr Reena Kharpudi, the inmates have been engaged in transforming raw materials into beautiful, eco-friendly rakhis.

Dr Kharpudi emphasised the therapeutic benefits of such activities. The meticulously crafted rakhis will be available for purchase from Saturday, August 10, at a discounted rate of 50% at the RMH’s OPD premises, Day Care centre, and a stall near the hospital gate. Dr Satish Humane, medical superintendent of RMH, appealed to the public and retailers to support this noble cause.
