If you’re looking for a new furry addition to the family, then the welfare charity’s Darlington location is certainly a place to start. Whether you want to take home a charming older dog like Leo or a beautiful but shy German Shepherd Dog Cross, there’s plenty of adorable four-legged friends to choose from. We’ve put together a list of nine dogs currently looking for a loving home to join soon: Norville, Pyrenean Mountain Dog Known affectionately as the "BFG," Norville, a 5-7-year-old Pyrenean Mountain Dog, is a gentle giant with a heart as big as his stature.

Norville (Image: DARLINGTON DOG'S TRUST) Norville is friendly with people and can live with primary and secondary school-aged children. While his doggy social skills are still a work in progress, he may share a home with another dog pending successful introductions. Norville enjoys company and would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day to help him settle in.

A garden would be ideal for this big lad to enjoy sniffing and pottering around. Norville does have hip dysplasia, requiring ongoing medical care, but his sweet and friendly nature makes him an amazing addition to any family. Leo, Terrier (Jack Russell) Cross Leo, an 8+ year-old Terrier (Jack Russell) Cross, is a charming older gentleman looking for a quiet retirement home.

Leo (Image: DARLINGTON DOG'S TRUST) Initially shy, Leo warms up quickly once he feels comfortable. He would do best in a home with older teens, as younger children mig.
