Many say that cooking from the heart is all you need to succeed as a chef, and for Nikunj Vasoya, it was his passion for his native Kathiyawadi food that earned him a place among the culinary stars. Born to a farming family Khijadiya village in Jamnagar, his early life was a humble one, spent helping his father in the cotton fields and then coming back home where he would help his mother to cook the family meal in the evenings. In his youth, cooking was more about necessity than enjoyment, but as time went on, he began to realise how much he loved the process and that no matter what people’s background, everybody depended on food.

It was in 2013 when Nikunj was pursuing a Company Secretaryship that he realised that food was the passion which he wanted to follow for the rest of his life. He had a dream of starting his own food channel and like so many entrepreneurs he turned to the wonders of YouTube to chase his dreams. He started a channel called “Crazy for Indian Food,” which highlighted Kathiyawadi cuisine, a speciality of Gujarat known for its intense flavours and local produce.

Today that channel has over 5.9 lakh followers with views on videos ranging into the millions as people step into his world of organic, village cooking. In addition to this he created a network called Foodon TV which is the World's 1st Food Network from a Village with 6 channels, 4 websites in 3 languages.
