A 30-minute pre-taped program that explores the background and lives of Mercy clinicians, patients and others, Medoscopy was launched in spring 2021 and airs in two 15-minute segments. Patel and Ledakis discuss their work in the treatment of a variety of cancer conditions, as well as shedding light on their backgrounds and on life outside the hospital. Dr. Patel notes how she “went off to medical school right after high school as an 18-year-old,” attending the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice in Poland.

Dr. Ledakis, who “grew up in the suburbs of Athens” and whose given name, Panayotis, means “All Holy” in Greek, explained how he earned his medical degree from the University of Athens Medical School in Greece. On more personal notes, Dr.

Patel relayed a childhood interest in jigsaw puzzles and as an adult, enjoys travel with her husband and their 9-month old. Dr. Ledakis shared his interest in the works of Greek author, journalist, politician, poet and philosopher, Nikos Kazantzakis.
