Launching more than 90 years ago, the popular treat has long stuck to what it knows: a fluffy genoise sponge filled with sweet orange jelly and topped with dark chocolate. Inspire by one of the UK's favourite beverages, McVitie's hoped the bizarre flavour will attract a new surge of younger shoppers. Priced at £1.25 for a pack of 10, the vegetarian-friendly bars cost just 12 per cake/ biscuit/ whatever you want to call them. "McVitie's Jaffa Jakes Cola Bottle flavour is tailormade for those who've got the bottle to branch out and give bold new flavour combinations a go," said MD Adam Woolf.

"We're also very confident this will appeal to shoppers, having come out on top as the best-performing flavour among 18-34 olds in our pre-launch t.
