Making its debut back in 1981, the McRib featured a boneless pork patty fashioned to resemble ribs.

It was then slathered in BBQ sauce , topped with onions and pickles, all which were nestled inside a toasted bun. Despite its popularity, it was first axed after just four years on the menu. While it has made various comebacks over the years since then, the last time it was seen in the UK was back in 2015 - and fans have consistently asked for it to comeback.

Officially set to land once more on menus for a limited time from October 16, those eager to relish the sandwich will find it priced individually at £4.49, while a medium extra value meal will cost £6.19, reports the Mirror .

McDonald's UK Head of Menu, Thomas O'Neill, expressed his excitement: "It is more than just a sandwich; it's a phenomenon. We have heard our fans loud and clear the fan petitions and pleas on social - and after almost a decade of anticipation, we are thrilled to bring back this iconic menu item."
