Maya Jama was supported by her mum as she hosted Love Island: After Sun tonight following her split from Stormzy. Earlier this week, Maya and Stormzy confirmed they had gone their separate ways after giving their romance another go. The pair met back in 2014 and were together for five years before splitting up for the first time.

They later rekindled their romance but unfortunately, it wasn't to be - and in the end, the pair decided they were better off as a friends. Tonight, as she hosted After Sun, Maya brought her mum Sadie along, where she interviewed multiple past Islanders, including Amy Hart and Chris Taylor as well as panellist Sam Thompson . It is her first live appearance on Love Island since the news of her and Stormzy's split, which was announced earlier this week.

Whilst Maya has appeared on the show since at the party - where two Islanders found themselves dumped from the island - After Sun is filmed on the same day it airs. In a statement, the couple confirmed their split. It read: "We've been laughing whilst drafting this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we'd be the couple announcing a breakup, but for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to allow us the space and grace that's needed for us both to be able to navigate this next bit of our lives with peace, we thought it might be best to.

"We fell madly in love in 2014, broke up in 2019, and then spent five years manoeuvring life apart. We decided to try for the final time in August 2023.
