Dancehall artiste Mavado has been forced to cancel his upcoming performance in Nottingham, England on Saturday, July 27th because of an undisclosed illness. “It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce to my UK fans that the show at the Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham, slated for this Saturday, July 27, has been rescheduled to September 27th,” Mavado explained in a statement shared on Instagram by Captain Bwoy Entertainment, the promoter of the event. Mavado apologised to his legion of fans by posting a black-and-white photo on his verified Instagram account.

He captioned the photo with praying emojis to the effect: “My UK fans, sorry for the change of plan. I have no choice. Gully Gad will be back real soon.

” The decision comes after Mavado fell ill with a severe flu following a performance in London. “I have been bedridden all week and had to seek medical attention. I am over the worst of it and recovering, but on the advice of doctors, I am unable to perform this Saturday,” Mavado said.

He expressed gratitude to his fans for their support during his four-week stay in the UK. Mavado is known for songs including Whe Dem a Do, I’m So Special and Star Bwoy. — Claude Mills.
