Born on January 3, 1937, in Johnstown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Mellis) Brennan. Maureen was a high-ranking student, the Prom Queen, and voted 'Best-Looking' in Johnstown High School's Class of 1955. After graduation, Maureen spent nearly 2 years beating Tuberculosis at Homer Folks Hospital in Oneonta, NY.

After her release, she went on to raise a family and served as a secretary for the Greater Johnstown School District and later ran the family's tuxedo rental business. Lovingly referred to as "Egg" by her family, Maureen was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a hard worker, always up to the task, and a great problem-solver.

Everything she did, she did with class. She was artistic, crafty, funny, and smart; her Irish eyes, deep dimples, and bright smile could light up a room. Alzheimer's Disease may have taken Maureen's memory from her, but her beautiful soul will never be forgotten.

Maureen is survived by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 67 years, Jack Papa; children, Joe (Kathleen), Frank (Mary Beth), Regina (Fred), and her sister, Mary Ann Stock (Art); grandsons Nick and Gabe Papa; grandaughters Jacqueline (Bryan ) Strouse and Sarah (Marat) Lozhkin; great-grandchildren, Anthony C. Papa, Alek and Maxwell Lozhkin, Luca Strouse and soon-to-be great-grandaughter baby Strouse. In addition to her parents, Maureen is predeceased by her sister, Joanne Hornidge and her grandson, Anthony G.
