One of the doctors charged in Matthew Perry's ketamine overdose previously in his job. Dr Mark Chavez was arrested for and has agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy to a felony charge of conspiracy to distribute ketamine. The doctor has in the wake of his arrest.

It's now been revealed Chavez previously admitted he had become "unfit" and "depressed" in the . Speaking about his career on YouTube, Chavez revealed he had reached a point in his life where he had "lost" his own health. Speaking in 2021, he told viewers: "I was suffering from burnout as a doctor after years of working long hours in the hospital emergency room.

I'd become unfit, depressed, and gained over 60lbs. Not a great way to be when people are coming to you for health guidance. "I was ashamed of the person I'd become and vowed to make a major change in my life.

" Chavez is now facing 10 years in prison for his involvement in Perry's death. He is due to appear in court again later today when a sentencing date is likely to be set. Dr Salvador Plasencia was also arrested in connection to Perry's death and has also had his registration to write prescriptions revoked.

Plasencia is charged with seven counts of distribution of ketamine and two counts of altering and falsifying documents or records related to the federal investigation. He has pleaded not guilty. Perry's live-in assistant Kenneth Iwamasa was also charged in relation to the actor's death.
