A Massachusetts woman is being remembered as the type of person who brought joy to people’s lives. She lit up every room she walked into, always smiling, always happy, always laughing. On Aug.
1, Ashley Jean Mangual was killed in a car collision in Methuen. Mangual was driving her SUV on Lowell Road when it crashed head-on with a dump truck in Methuen around 7:30 a.m.
on Aug. 1, the city’s police said . Mangual was trapped inside the car with serious injuries.
The local fire department freed Mangual from her SUV and she was flown by medical helicopter to a regional trauma center. She later died from her injuries, Methuen police said. Alyssa Pippen, one of Mangual’s friends, had scheduled a visit just hours before she was killed, according to a post she made on Facebook the day Mangual was killed.
“I’m in such a shock. I’m so sorry babygirl,” Pippen wrote. “R.
i.p Ashley Mangual.” Pippen then went on to express her condolences to Peto Mangual, Ashley’s husband, the post said.
She said that she first met Mangual years against through a friend named Roxanne Lala Ramos. “She had a beautiful soul, very caring and [was] not afraid to tell [you] how it is,” she said. After graduating from Lowell High School, Mangual went on to get a certification as a nurse’s assistant and a patient care assistant.
In a role where she was a “natural,” Mangual was described as having a “kind heart and gentle manner,” the obituary read. Mangual married the “love of h.
