November is the month for giving thanks. That is how I like to think about November. I don’t wait until the last Thursday of the month to count my blessings.

I like to challenge myself to think of something to be thankful for all 30 days. There are a couple of constant thank-yous each year in November that I celebrate. The first is moving from my home to Linden Court.

Linden Court has been my home for 14 years. It is more than a place to live. I am cared about and cared for.

A blessing for me. I remember the move being a bit overwhelming. It was only a couple miles from there to here, but seemed like a huge move at the time.

Then I read the following words and everything fell into perspective. “Faith is the bridge between where I am and the place where God is taking me.” I am so thankful for God’s loving care and reassurance.

I am very thankful to receive necessary care for my multiple sclerosis and thankful for my family who sees that those needs are met. The second thing I am thankful for in November is this column. November is the month I change how many years I have been writing.

This year we change it to 30. I give thanks for the joy writing has given me. I love words, I love to write, but the people that have been part of my many columns are where the joy comes.

Which leads me right into thankful thoughts on my November list is my friends. I have forever friends. When I make a friend, I keep them forever.

I have been blessed to be able to do just that. Students .
