Open to Possibilities – Works by Art Garcia and Cydney Lewis will open on Aug. 30 at the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts at 540 S.
Lake St. in Gary's lakefront Miller Beach neighborhood. "The first thing that hits a viewer when first seeing the work of artists Cydney Lewis and Art Garcia is color," the Miller Beach Arts and Creative District said in a press release.

Both artists work in a variety of media and this exhibit brings it all together. Collage, drawing, painting, sculpture, and installation are combined in the show aptly entitled 'Open to Possibilities.'" An opening reception with a cash bar and light refreshments will take place from 6-8 p.
m. on Friday, Aug. 30.
"Cydney Lewis, a Chicago-based artist with a multidisciplinary background, including a BS in Architecture from the University of Illinois and a background in film and ballet, is inspired to imagine multidimensional landscapes created from everyday objects she feels reflect the world we live in," the Miller Beach Arts and Creative District said in a press release. "Printed materials and imagery document our existence, while discarded objects reveal our values, claims Lewis. She discovers their stories, beauty, and endless adaptation through drawing, collage, sculpture, and installation assembled around these materials.
