She served as the Director of Dietetics at Feather River Hospital and later as a Child Nutrition Consultant at the California Department of Education. Sue was instrumental in developing computer programs to enhance the efficiency of child nutrition consultants’ work, showcasing her innovative spirit and commitment to child health. A member of the Paradise Seventh Day Adventist Church, Sue’s faith was an integral part of her life.
Her honesty and outspoken nature were tempered by a deep caring and generosity, particularly evident during the holidays when she gifted Paper White flowers, which she grew herself, to her neighbors. Sue was also a talented artist, skilled in watercolor and chalk, sewing, resin crafts, and gardening. These hobbies reflected her creative spirit and love for beauty in various forms.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lea; children, Tamara Sue Flannery (Michael) and Shelley Katina Leidner (Thom); step-children, Deborah Lea, Jud Lea (Tarace) and Jendy Lea (Kevin); grandchildren, Austin, Reilly, Anastasia, Anneka; and great-grandchildren, Aurora and Adaline.
