Mariah Carey has revealed she is mourning the loss of both her mother and her sister. The 55-year-old singer shared the news on Monday that ‘in a tragic turn of events’ they had both died on the same day. Her mother Patricia died aged 87, while her sister Alison was 63.

She told People : ‘My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. ‘Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day. ‘I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed.
