The Hero singer sadly announced the heartbreaking news on Monday that both her mum Patricia and sister Alison sadly passed away on the same day over the weekend. The mum-of-two opened up about her mum's last tragic moments - and was comforted from the fact she got to spend the last week together with Patricia before she passed away.
Mariah has now revealed she spent the entire week with her beloved mum before her death, offering an insight into her final moments. Speaking to People , a distraught Mariah, aged 55, expressed, "My heart is broken that I've lost my mother this past weekend." Mariah continued, "Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.
" She added: "I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mum before she passed." The mum-of-two added: "I appreciate everyone's love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time," before concluding her statement.
