Margaret Morgan OBITUARY Margaret (“Marnie”) John McGrail Morgan, 90, died September 10, 2024. She passed away peacefully at home with her children at her bedside. Marnie was born on December 6, 1933.

She was the only child of John Joseph McGrail and Catherine Mary Herbert. She grew up in the Boston area, graduating from Winthrop High School and attending Westbrook Junior College. Marnie had innumerable talents.

She was a consummate entertainer and enjoyed hosting family and friends for dinner parties. She collected art and antiques. She had a beautiful singing voice and played the piano.

She was an excellent bridge player, attaining the rank of Life Master. She was an enthusiastic golfer. She was an active member of the Princess Anne Garden Club and prepared floral arrangements for many weddings with her friends “the flower girls.

” Marnie’s commitment to her community was evident in her diverse roles, from volunteer coordinator for the City of Virginia Beach to serving on the Board of the Norfolk Forum to co-founding a docent program to provide local high school students tours of the Virginia Beach courthouse. She was also a founding member of the Margaret Roper Moss Circle of the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. She was an active member of the Catholic parish at Ft.
