Prayagraj : The Saraymamrez police on Thursday arrested a 26-year-old youth for illegally storing firecrackers weighing about 200 kg in his house. They seized the firecrackers that were packed in six cartons and five sacks near the Soro Bazar area. "Acting upon a specific tip-off, a police team arrested Ganesh Gupta .
He could not show any valid document related to the sale, purchase, or storage of firecrackers. Moreover, there were no adequate arrangements for fire extinguishers and apparatus to deal with any crisis-like situation,' a senior police official said. The official added that Gupta has been booked under section 288 of BNS and section 5/9 (K) of the Explosive Act.
