Some of the busiest A-road through Wiltshire are set to close to drivers during an extensive roadworks programme. Wiltshire Council has warned town and parish councils around the county of a significant number of roadworks that will take place in 26 stages between November 4 and January 3 next year. This will include a range of highway repairs on some of Wiltshire’s most important roads, such as carriageway patching, surface dressing, and associated maintenance works.

Routes included in this programme include the A4 between Chippenham and Calne, which is set to shut to motorists from the junction with London Road at Pewsham to the junction with the A342 at Derry Hill. The A346 is also scheduled to close near Marlborough, affecting the villages of Ogbourne St Andrew and Ogbourne St George. While the full timetable for these road closures has not yet been released, each closure is anticipated to last for up to five days.

Advance signage is due to be installed two weeks prior to each closure. A full list of the works can be found below.
