1 2 Prayagraj: As the Sangam city is being given a divine, grand, and new look for Maha Kumbh 2025 , the approaching roads of the Sangam city are also being decorated and beautified. For this, plantations are being done on the footpaths on both sides of the roads, while the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) has started the exercise of decorating the dividers with decorative flowering and colourful attractive plants. To welcome the devotees coming from Varanasi, Jaunpur, and Azamgarh, dividers of the state highway have been beautified with colourful plants.
An iron grill has also been installed to protect them from grazing animals. On Jaunpur and Azamgarh route, the divider has been decorated with colourful flower plants on 7.25 kms long stretch from Sahason crossing to Andawa crossing.
Similarly, PDA is engaged in the exercise of beautifying the nearly 2km-long road going from Andawa Chauraha Katka to Naresh Garden Jhunsi. Shady trees like pakkad, neem and kadamba are being planted on the footpaths on both sides of the approximately 18 feet wide road. At the same time, the work of decorating the road divider with decorative plants like washingtonia palm, bottle palm, and bougainvillea is being done at a fast pace, which is targeted to be completed by Nov 20.
Likewise, in the Kumbh Mela area, footpaths and dividers on both sides of the road from Andavan to Shastri Bridge are already decorated with lush green trees and beautiful flowering plants, only their maintenance need.
