Login Sydney jeweller Stefano Canturi has spent 38 years designing and crafting pieces he regards as the ultimate miniature sculptures. But not even decades of obsessing over stones, cuts and settings prepared him for the work involved in creating a watch, something he came to see as a logical next challenge and ultimate goal.
“Everything’s about timing,” he tells The Australian Financial Review Magazine . “You don’t try to do a watch when you’re 10 years in business, it makes no sense, it’s too complicated.” Nor did he start his business with goals in mind.
Rather, the idea of a creating a watch evolved more naturally. “I just thought, ‘you know what?
