Olivia Shaw starred defensively with seven blocks from the middle, and Gabrielle Damborowiski spiked a team-high nine kills for the Cardinals. Mineral Area (11-4) narrowly escaped three set points to steal game one after a spike off the antenna made the score 24-22. Lake Land initially jumped ahead 10-5 on kills by Luciana Araujo and Urbanski after the Cardinals failed to connect on a few earlier passes.

One official detected a slight touch on a Damborowiski attack before it carried long, and the Lakers surrendered the tying rally on a spike that clearly sailed too deep. Addison Urbanski answered a block by Shaw with an outside kill for Lake Land, which regained a 26-25 lead when Jessica Evans found an open spot to conclude a good rally. Lara Gilardi came back with a timely block for the Cardinals, however, and Shaw covered a deflection along the front row as back-to-back kills by Damborowiski closed the stanza.

The Cardinals increased an 11-9 advantage in game two on a middle kill from Amiyah Saxton and ensuing ace by Morelia Diaz. The margin reached 20-11 after Lake Land (12-3) was unable to clear amid miscommunication and fired two other attacks out of bounds. Shaw earned her second straight b.
