High-end jeweller Cartier has opened the doors of its first standalone boutique in Perth in yet another sign of WA’s appetite for luxury spending. Opening on Monday, the 300sqm boutique on Murray Street is set to offer Cartier’s jewellery and watch collections, as well as a wide range of accessories like leather goods, fragrances and gifts. Cartier joins fellow luxury jewellers Tiffany & Co, and Van Cleef & Arpels in the high-end retail precinct.

Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas shared pictures to social media of inside the designer store. “Congratulations and welcome global retail icon @cartier - now open at 307 Murray Street in Perth,” Mr Zempilas captioned the post. “Their magnificently appointed Cartier Perth Boutique is the latest addition to the @cityofperth Murray Street Luxury precinct and is absolutely beautiful.

“(Monday’s) opening is yet another sign of the enormous confidence and belief in our City, a confidence and belief we are delighted to share.” The Perth boutique marks Cartier’s first and only store opening in Australia this year, in what Oceania managing director Thomas Crye said was a continuation of its mission to reach more customers nationally. “To date, Western Australian clients travel to Sydney or Melbourne to visit us, and we want to create a stronger connection with them in-person, right in their home city, offering a memorable local experience,” he told The West Australian.
