Cosmetics giants Lush and Rituals are looking to move into Fosse Park according to new plans. Applicant Wexford Retail LP, A Crown Estate (TCE) Company has applied to Blaby District Council for an update to original planning conditions for a single unit to be split into two for Lush and Rituals to move in. The proposal is looking to change the floorspace of the unit, which is based next to Skechers and opposite Next , to create two separate shops, with a new shared serving area for the two new retail units.

The area has been vacant since it was built and has never been occupied, despite being marketed for over five years, according to developers. Original plans looked to create seven units for the main terrace area , but that is set to be increased to eight, by subdividing it into two shops. That proposed increase would also mean each unit's internal floor space would reduce too.

External alterations would also be needed. READ MORE : Major update issued on 'much loved' Leicestershire cinema set to close However, the plan has caused concern for Leicester City Council . The authority is the only objection listed against the scheme, highlighting fears about the reduced unit size.

It stressed the importance of conditions previously imposed on their size when this area of Fosse Park was originally approved. It claimed the condition was imposed to protect the vitality and viability of nearby town centres which included Leicester city centre, with the impacts being thoroughly tested.
