The 37-year-old, who spent three-and-a-half years with the Reds , reunited with Messi in the MLS after the pair played together at Barcelona. Suarez scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 20 appearances for Miami this year before he was called up for international duty with Uruguay ahead of Copa America earlier this summer.

The forward, however, played just 31 minutes before Marcelo Bielsa's side were knocked out by Colombia in the semi-final. He played 45 minutes in the third place play-off against Canada, scoring a penalty in the shootout victory. After that, Suarez returned to Miami for two MLS fixtures and the Leagues Cup, which ended in a 3-2 defeat against Columbus Crew in the Round of 16.

Due to exiting the competition at that stage, Miami are in the middle of an 11-day countdown to their next fixture against Cincinnati, which is set to take place on Sunday, August 25. In the meantime, Suarez and Messi have decided to enjoy a family break together. In an Instagram post, Suarez posted three images of him with his children and wife Sofia Balbi alongside Messi and his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, on a luxury yacht.
