The airline’s official website states, “Due to the current security situation in the Middle East, Lufthansa has extended the suspension of its flights to the region. The safety and security of our passengers and crew are our highest priorities, and we are working closely with local authorities and security experts to assess the situation continuously.” The German Federal Foreign Office has issued updated travel advisories, warning travelers about heightened risks in the Middle East.
According to the latest advisory, tensions in the region have escalated, prompting the government to advise against non-essential travel to certain areas. The advisory notes, “Given the current security environment, travelers should exercise extreme caution. The situation remains fluid and subject to rapid changes.
” Lufthansa’s decision follows similar moves by other major airlines, which have also suspended or reduced services to the region.
