Is anything sweeter than childhood friends reconnecting and falling in love as adults? There’s just something undeniably heartwarming about watching friends, who’ve known each other through all messy and complex stages of life, finally realize they have romantic feelings for each other. The childhood friends-turned-lovers romance trope is a successful K-drama formula and ‘Love Next Door’, a new show featuring Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min in the lead, is using it in all its glory. The story revolves around Choi Seung-hyo (Played by Hae-in) and Bae Seok-ryu (Played by So-min), who grew up together since childhood.

Closeness doesn’t seem to bother them in the slightest until their unromantic friendship begins to blossom into something more. The show premiered via Netflix on August 17 and has since released two episodes.
