LOVE Island winners Molly Smith and Tom Clare have revealed their hidden Irish background and opened up on their "intense" life after leaving the villa. The former islanders found love back in January when they took part in the All Stars Winter edition of the hit reality show. The lovebirds went on to win the first season of the spin off show and have since embarked on an eight-month whirlwind romance.

On a fly in visit to Dublin , Molly , 24 and Tom , 30, spoke to the Irish Sun about their Irish backgrounds. The reality stars both revealed they have Irish grandparents and are already "dying" to return and "go and see where there families came from". Tom said: "My granddad passed away before I was even born.

My mum was like 13 when he died. She tells me all the stories about how our Irish family used to come over and speak in the thick Irish accent. Molly then immediately cut across and gushed: “I just love the Irish accent, it’s just the best.

I’m always saying to my mum like, 'I wish that the accent had travelled down to us'.” She continued: "I was quite young so I can’t really remember my granddad but I remember he was like really loud but of course lovely." The lovebirds recently took their relationship to the next level after purchasing an incredible mansion together.
