It’s been four years since the reality TV show first launched on Netflix , following hopeful singletons as they go on dates behind walls to conceal their appearances from their potential suitors. Several couples end up getting engaged before ever meeting in person, before then embarking on an experiment – which includes living together in the real world and meeting each other’s families – and eventually, in some cases, getting married.

There have been several international spin-offs of the programme, including the recently-released Love Is Blind UK and Love Is Blind Brazil. In the latest edition of the Brazilian version, it follows a slightly more unique format, as all of the participants have been heartbroken before and are looking for a second chance at love. In the first episode of Love is Blind Brazil: A Fresh Start, viewers meet Ariela Carasso, 34, who says that in her last relationship, her partner became extremely jealous and cheated on her with an ex-friend after she lost weight.
