A lottery winner who turned into an unexpected chauffeur has shared how he's using his winnings to transform lives. Peter Congdon, 76, who bagged a whopping £13.5 million, discovered his new passion after aiding a bride left stranded during the pandemic.

The kind-hearted man stepped in when her wedding was cancelled four times and she couldn't secure a wedding car, reports the Mirror. Now, the generous grandad-of-ten owns a fleet of cars for those in need, ranging from teenagers attending prom to individuals nearing the end of their lives in hospices. He's even purchased several properties which he rents out at affordable rates to help young people step onto the property ladder.

Reflecting on the encounter with the bride that led him to his new path, Peter said: "It was such a memorable moment, when the bride walked out, she was expecting to climb into her dad's car and instead, she looked up and saw my Bentley parked across the street, and realised she did have a beautiful wedding car. She wept so much that she had to go back in to get her makeup fixed." Waiving what would typically be a £500 luxury wedding car fee for all his 'customers', Peter added: "Since then, when I hear of a bride who can't afford a car, I'll step in to volunteer.

I think I've taken more than 25 brides to say 'I do'. I always turn up in my best suit to help make it the happiest day of her life, and the only payment I need is to see the joy on their faces." Like most big winners, the former bus drive.
