Liverpool fans have slammed the club's new third kit which bizarrely features a vertical Nike logo. Rather than being horizontal like a traditional Nike-supplied kit , the tick on the Reds' new shirt has been changed. That is part of Nike's 'Together We Rise' collection from the American company's club football deals.

Liverpool have dedicated their new third kit to a celebration of the women's game. The shirt is mostly white with red and yellow details on the sleeves and collar, while the shorts are black and the socks also white. Each of Nike's Together We Rise kits is inspired by the club's unique story, distinct identity, culture and diverse communities.

The Reds claim their shirt is 'rebellious by design' and a celebration of female punk artists who pioneered a new sound in the city. On the reverse of the shirt, the 97 emblem encased by the eternal flames sits at the nape of the neck in memory of the children, women and men who were unlawfully killed as a result of the Hillsborough disaster. The third kit completes Liverpool's line-up for the new season and is made with Dri-Fit ADV, Nike's pinnacle standard for performance wear.

Liverpool's campaign video features stars from the men's and women's game. Andy Robertson is one of the players to feature from the men's squad. The Scottish left-back has hailed the new kit and picked out the change to the Nike Swoosh as an element he is a particular fan of.
