SOUTHBURY – Lisette Leopard, seamstress extraordinaire, died Aug. 20, 2024, in her home in Watermark communities just three months shy of her 97th birthday. Born in Wolfratshausen, Germany, Nov.

26, 1927, she trained extensively as a seamstress. She met her husband in Munich where he was stationed during the Korean conflict. After her husband came back to the States, he saved enough money for her to sail to the U.

S. to be wed. Her joy in life was caring for her family, and creating beautiful clothing.

She is survived by her daughter Judy and husband John Philbrick; grandsons John and Matthew Donahoe; granddaughter Rachael Philbrick; and nieces Manuela (Markus) Huber and Marita (Udo) Klunsch. Lisette was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) Leopard; her daughter and son-in-law Heidi and Michael Donahoe; her nephew Alexander Gross; her sister Luise Kailberth; brother Adolf (Erika) Gross; and her longtime companion George Clausing. I would like to thank the amazing care team at Watermark Assisted Living; the CNAs and nurses were caring and professional.

They cared for her beautifully and watched over me, Judy. I consider them family as she lived at Watermark for 13 and one half years. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
