Bokaro: Police investigating the Shankar Rawani murder case has discovered a liquor smuggling racket linked to the crime . Rawani was shot dead when he was getting his car washed near Basanti More in Bokaro on July 18. Police said the racket had been smuggling foreign liquor from Bokaro to other states.

"While conducting the investigation, police recovered luxury vehicles along with numerous liquor boxes," said SP Pujya Prakash. Accused Virendra Prasad alias Veeru was arrested a few days ago, and based on his statements, a raid was conducted at the warehouse of his aide, Sanjay Singh, at Hanuman Nagar, Sector 12. The raid resulted in the seizure of four cartons of illicit liquor from a car and the recovery of two vehicles.
