Attacking Mamata Banerjee over her recent remarks which have stirred a political firestorm, Giriraj Singh claimed that the chief minister had an undemocratic mindset as "this can't be the language of a democratic person". Published: August 29, 2024 7:40 PM IST By Union Minister and Senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh Thursday slammed Mamata Banerjee for her “burn” remark, likening her to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un who, he said, cannot tolerate any opposition akin to the West Bengal Chief Minister. Attacking Banerjee over her recent remarks which have stirred a political firestorm, Giriraj claimed that the chief minister had an undemocratic mindset as “this can’t be the language of a democratic person”.

“This can’t be the language of a democratic person, of a Chief Minister. North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un doesn’t tolerate his Opposition. Similarly, Mamata Banerjee doesn’t tolerate the words of her Opposition,” the BJP leader said.

‘If Bengal burns..’ Mamata Banerjee, who is under fire over the law and order situation in Bengal which has shot into the limelight following the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar hospital, recently stirred a controversy wit her remarks, wherein she warned that others states too “shall burn” if Bengal does.

“If you burn Bengal, Assam, North-East, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Delhi too shall burn!,” she had said, while accusing opposition parties, especially the BJP, of stirri.
