For the supermarket's dedicated fanbase, the All Butter Croissant remains a firm favourite treat among many.

In fact, it's so popular that 122 croissants from the bakery aisle are said to be sold every minute. To immortalise its success, Lidl has announced the new 'Croissant Bag' in collaboration with Nik Bentel. The Italian-American designer is also behind some other unique designs such as the internet-breaking 'Pasta Bag' and a wallet shaped like a retro Gameboy Colour.

The Nikolas Bentel x Lidl Croissant Bag will be the designer's first UK collaboration and it will be available to buy via his website from 3pm on Thursday, August 29. Costing just £50, all the proceeds from the eclectic handbag will go towards the children's charity NSPCC . Designed in a soft leather material, the handbag's design combines a trendy roll top clutch style with a traditional paper bag, making it look similar to the 'bakery bags' from the supermarket .
