As a longtime resident of Cañon City and a concerned voter, I want to take a moment to express my support for the upcoming ballot questions 2A, 6A, and 6B that propose funding for a new community pool. Unlike last time when I was opposed to the idea, I have come to realize how crucial this facility is for our children and our community as a whole. In the past, I shared my concerns about the costs associated with a new pool and whether it was the right investment for our city.

However, after witnessing the impact of not having a central recreational space for our kids, I’ve changed my mind. A community pool isn’t just a luxury; it’s an essential resource that can provide a safe, fun, and healthy environment for our youth. Swimming offers numerous benefits, from physical fitness to life skills that can save lives.

Not to mention, a new pool would create a space where our children can gather, make friends, and enjoy the outdoors during the hot summer months. It is an opportunity for families to come together, share experiences, and foster a sense of community. I strongly believe that if we want to invest in the well-being and future of our children, we need to support initiatives like this.

We need to provide them with accessible recreational facilities that promote their health, safety, and social development. Therefore, I encourage everyone to join me in voting yes on ballot questions 2A, 6A, and 6B. It’s time to prioritize our kids and create a pool that will benefi.
