E-ticketing hurdleFirst, I want to thank Meri Radinibaravi for sharing the issues we as bus commuters face on a day-to-day basis regarding the e-ticketing system. The preliminary challenges were quite articulately covered under the inDepth column (FT 24/02). While the PM and his Coalition ministers ride in luxurious taxpayer-funded vehicles, we, the public, are paying for the consequences of such a system.
Let us keep our fingers crossed, hoping that Vodafone Fiji will address the concerns raised by us, the bus commuters. Gosh, I hope this is not another blatant pork-barreling tactic move from the government! Anyways, looking forward to reading Part 2 on March 3 only on The Fiji Times. Vinaka Fiji Times for another wonderful column! Never fail to amaze me.
Litiana M- Rakire Nabua, SuvaProud of Fijiana effortAfter the disappointment on the 7s circuit, the Fijiana made it to the final of the Vancouver 7s tournament. The Fijiana 7s lost to Japan 19-14 and Team Great Britain 24-21 in pool play but beat France 24-12. The girls put up a brave performance against Brazil, thrashing them 46-0 in the quarters.
Japan was up in the semis and the side outmuscled them 28-7. Despite the loss to the Black Ferns 41 7, I’m proud that the Fijiana 7s side reached their first final since 2021. If only the girls can repeat this sterling and fantastic performance consistently, we are going to avoid relegation and be in the top half of the competition.
There was a huge improvement shown by the tea.
