Garcia, Trump: two peas in a pod A fter hearing some of Rep. Mike Garcia’s (R-Palmdale) commercials accusing his opponent of being soft on crime, I have to address Garcia’s hypocrisy on the crime issue with his pro-Donald Trump stance and his congressional record. I am saying this as one who supports Nathan Hochman for district attorney.

On the crime issue, talk about calling the kettle black. For Garcia fully supports Donald Trump, a convicted felon on 34 counts, in other words a criminal for president. What a blatant hypocrisy on the “law and order” issue.

In fact on policy, Garcia and Trump are virtually “two peas in a pod.” For Garcia, like the typical MAGA, genuflects before Trump on the issues. On Jan.

6, 2021 after Trump’s riot at the US Capitol and police officers were injured, Garcia refused to certify the electoral college votes for Biden. Unlike Garcia, Vice President Mike Pence followed the Constitution and certified the 2020 results. This is why Pence is not on Trump’s ticket this year.

Garcia also opposed the immigration reform bill partially written by conservative Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) to fix the border, which had the support of law enforcement officers, because Trump wanted the bill killed for politics.

Again, Garcia opposed the bipartisan infrastructure bill to fix our roads and bridges. Our 14 Freeway is now being renovated and repaired, no thanks to Garcia’s no vote. Trump as president never followed through on infrastructure, let.
