: BJP Parliamentary Board member and OBC Morcha national president Dr K. Laxman said around 1,000 farmers have committed suicide in the 11-month rule of the Congress government in the state since 50 per cent in the farmers have been struggling as they have made debts to continue their agricultural operations with a hope that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would honour his word and fully implement farm loan waiver.
Addressing a press conference, Laxman said that the Revanth Reddy government had waived the farm loan to the tune of Rs 17,000 crore only, though promised to waive farm loans all the farmers and estimated it as Rs 31,000 crore. The non-implementation of Rythu Bharosa for farmers and tenant farmers at Rs 15,000 for each farmer and `12,000 to farm laborers, had drained their expected resources, which led to farmers to raise new loans. The BRS government in the past had cheated unemployed youth with paper leakages and promised to issue notifications.
The agitated youth in the state defeated the BRS. The Congress also cheated youth, though it promised to fill 2 lakh jobs within one year of coming to power and provide Rs 4,000 as unemployment allowance. The Congress government had cheated all sections of the society including youth, farmers and women, Laxman charged.
The people in the state have realised that Congress guarantee means convincing the people with tall promises and cheating them, the Congress guarantee also means corruption, scams, hereditary politics, fami.
