More info TV star Laura Whitmore has come forward with allegations of "inappropriate behaviour" during her time on Strictly Come Dancing . The ex-Love Island presenter, aged 39, who danced with Giovanni Pernice in the 2016 series and was the seventh to leave the competition, has claimed she voiced her concerns while on the BBC One dance show. Despite suffering an ankle injury in the initial weeks, Whitmore has stated that her complaints were made known at the time.

Giovanni Pernice, 33, has previously denied any claims of "threatening or abusive behaviour" which were also brought up by Sherlock star Amanda Abbington , his partner in the 2023 series before his departure. On Saturday, Whitmore took to Instagram to clarify her stance: "I was trying not to comment on recent press speculation until the BBC review is complete but feel there is a lot of misinformation in the press and I want to help and show support by setting the record straight." She continued, revealing her involvement with the BBC's investigation: "I was asked to speak to the BBC along with six people that I know of (who deserve anonymity as they don't want to be dragged through the press), about inappropriate behaviour they experienced similar to mine with the same individual.
