Yellows looked set for defeat at 10-man Chorley until substitute Josh Amis, who was making his first appearance of the season, was felled in the box eight minutes into injury time. The referee pointed to the spot, and Connor Woods slammed home the resultant penalty to allow Town to snatch a 1-1 draw at Victory Park. That came after the hosts had been reduced to 10 men on the hour mark as Joe Nolan was sent off for a second yellow card, but the Magpies hit the front just two minutes later when Evan Gumbs' backpass evaded keeper Dan Atherton, with Craig Hewitt sliding the loose ball into the net.
