1 2 Prayagraj: The mela administration on Monday launched the land allotment exercise for the Maha Kumbh-2025 by allocating spaces to 10 out of 13 akharas, including 7 Shaiva and 3 Udasin. The remaining three akharas will be allotted land on Tuesday for the Maha Kumbh set to begin on Jan 13 next year. "After holding a meeting with seers and saints associated with Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP), officials of the mela administration on Monday launched its land allotment process at Triveni Road and Jagdish Marg," ADM ( Kumbh Mela ) Vivek Chaturvedi told TOI.

He added on the first day of exercise, 10 out of 13 akharas were allotted land at Triveni Marg. "Seven Shaiva akharas included Juna, Avahan, Mahanirvani, Niranjani, Agni, Anand and Atal, and three Udasin akharas, including Shri Panchayati Bada Udasin, Shri Panchayati Akhara Naya Udasin, and Shri Nirmal Panchayati Akhara, were allotted land on the mela campus." The land allotment for all 13 akharas that began on Monday will be completed on Tuesday.

He added that after akharas, land will be allotted to the camps of Shankaracharya, dandi swamis, saints and institutions of other sects. Earlier in the day, seers, saints, and representatives of all 13 akharas held an important meeting at the headquarters of Bada Akhara Udasin, Kydganj, and sought 25% more land (compared to the 2019 Kumbh) since the number of Mahants, Mahamandaleshwars, and seers has increased in every akhara. However, officials assured them around 10% more.
