Lady Gaga hinted at the sonic direction of her forthcoming seventh album, and she’s going to make her Little Monsters very happy. The 38-year-old “Just Dance” pop superstar kickstarted the long-awaited new era with her single “Disease” in October. The currently untitled collection will focus on “blending live instrumentation with programming,” which Gaga said has always been a cornerstone of her career. The album was compared to her opus The Fame Monster , meaning that fans should expect some dark pop stylings similar to “Disease.” However, that’s not all that’s in store.
“The album is chaotic from a genre perspective—it is genre-bending, and I think in that way is a deeply personal look into my mind as a producer and the way I think about music,” she explained. “When I write and produce and sing songs, I am always drawing upon my knowledge of the history of music, and so many artists and producers that came before me. In that way, this album is a celebration of a lot of the music that made me who I am, because when I returned to a darker pop style of pop, all my early .
