SLUG: PORSCHE CASE Pune: The labour contractor arrested in the Porsche Taycan car crash case made his employee transfer Rs2 lakh to the bank account of a co-accused through his employee to manipulate his minor son's blood alcohol test, special public prosecutor Shishir Hiray told a special court on Thursday. Assistant commissioner of police (crime) Ganesh Ingale produced the labour contractor before the court after his initial custodial remand came to an end. Special Judge Uttam Mudholkar extended his custodial remand till Nov 18.

Two young techies died when the Porsche Taycan car driven by the 17-year-old son of a prominent city builder hit their bike around 2.30am on May 19 in Kalyaninagar while he was returning to his Wadgaonsheri home after visiting a couple of pubs in Mundhwa. Two other minors accompanied the teenage driver in the car during the accident.

Public prosecutor Hiray submitted that after the contractor's questioning revealed that he instructed his employee to use a phone to transfer the money to the bank account of a co-accused, the investigating officer seized phones of his two employees to probe the financial transactions and find out if the money trail was linked to the parents of the minor car driver. He said the contractor's iPhone valued at Rs 40,000 recovered in the investigations was sent to the city cybercrime police for analysing the call details record and text messages exchanged with the co-accused.
